LA Deaths is a dedicated resource for deaths that have occurred in the County of Los Angeles in the State of California.
We collect death notices from official government sources multiple times throughout the day, as well as from public obituaries on a regular basis.
Our posts are provided as a courtesy resource for the general public. They are not to be used for insurance claims or other such legal purposes.
Each day, L.A. County sees about 150 deaths on average. Only between 30 and 50 of these daily deaths make it to the public record, usually through an announcement by the county’s medical examiner. The M.E.’s disclosure of non-ordinary deaths is required under California law. These non-ordinary deaths include mostly fatalities from traffic accidents, accidental drug overdoses, homicides, and suicides.
